National Look A Like Day

Happy National Look A Like Day. If you’re a twin then this is almost always a daily occurrence. This day was created in the 1980s when a TV reporter, Jack Etzel was with photographer Rick Minutello in downtown Pittsburgh when they spotted a man who looked like Humphrey Bogart. They decided to interview him. The next day Etzel contacted the Chase Calendar of Events and decided to declare April 20 as National Look A Like Day.

Fun Facts about Doppelgangers (Not the movie)

No one really knows the odds of someone having a look a like. It is said that mythical doppelgangers were not able to cast shadows or have reflections in water or mirrors (Vamps anyone?)

If one is seen them it was considered a harbinger of bad luck. If a family doppelganger was seen then it was a sign of impending sickness or extreme bad luck. If a person saw their own doppelganger then it was an omen of death.

To celebrate this day, dress as your favorite celebrity or have a friend dress as you and vise versa.
