Cobblers first appeared in the United States in the nineteenth century with settlers from England arrived. They brought over a recipe for suet pudding but because they didn’t have the same equipment here they adopted the recipe by putting uncooked dumplings or biscuts on top.

For a long time cobblers were not desserts to serve in the prescence of company but it changed over the years.

We’ve all had that situation. You do your laundry and as you are sorting and putting it away you notice you are missing a sock. So you set it aside thinking that it will show up, but it never does.

National Lost Sock Memorial Day honors all the socks that are no longer with us. Where did they go? No one really knows, we all have our theories that they have gone to their own sock world or another dimension. It has become such a phenomenon that we have a day to honor our lost socks.
